Our Story
Jake grew up in Maine and spent his time close to the excavation industry, working with his dad’s construction company and as a diesel mechanic. His passion for his country and for hard work inspired him to enlist in the Army, where he became a Green Beret. Jake served for 14 years through several deployments, including two trips to Afghanistan. However, a helicopter crash cut his career short and he was medically retired.
Jake is married to his wife, Melissa, who helps on the administrative side of North Star. They have three dogs and are expecting their first baby in 2026. After living in North Carolina and Colorado, Jake is returning to his roots here in Maine and is ready to get to work in his community, bringing his work ethic and never-quit attitude to his business.
